Government of Punjab Finance Department vide Letter No.NO.FD.SR-III-4-136/2023 dated 08th August, 2023 has intimated that Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to sanction increase in pension of retired government employees / civil pensioners 2023.
In continuation of this Department’s circular letter bearing even number dated 18-07-2023 on the subject noted above and to state that Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to sanction 17.5% increase in pension of retired government employees / civil pensioners w.e.f. 01.08.2023.
2. The 5% increase in pension of retired government employees / civil pensioners upto 80 years of age and 20% increase to retired government employees / civil pensioners who are over 80 years of age on 01.07.2023 granted vide this Department’s circular letter referred to above are hereby withdrawn w.e.f. 01.08.2023.
3. The Para-3 of this Department’s circular letter referred to above is omitted. Moreover, the increase in the pension @17.5% shall not be admissible to those pensioners who retire on or after 01.08.2023.
4. All other terms & conditions mentioned in this Department’s circular letter bearing even number dated 18.07.2023 shall remain the same.
