Government of the Punjab Finance Department issued Punjab Financial rules , which are used by the Government departments in Punjab for financial translations under their control.
Brief Description of financial rules is as under:-
In the departments which render accounts to the Accountant General, the form in which such accounts are rendered and the form in which the initial accounts, from which the accounts so rendered are compiled, or which they are based or kept are prescribed by the Auditor-General of Pakistan under rule 4 of the initial and Subsidiary Accounts Rules reproduced in Appendix I. Likewise, the outline of the system of accounts and the principles and methods of accounts(including classification of transactions in accounts) have been prescribed by the Auditor General of Pakistan and the directions in respect thereof are contained in Chapters 2 and 3 of Account Code, Volume I.
Every Government Servant is personally responsible for the money which passes through his hands and for the prompt record of receipts and payments in the relevant account as well as for the correctness of the account in every respect. The private cash or accounts of members of the office or department should not be mixed up with the public cash or
accounts.
